Residents in the DMV are being advised to stay inside as an Arctic blast may make it feel like it is below zero degrees in some areas, forecasters say.

Beginning at midnight and lasting through 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, a Cold Advisory has been issued in the region as they expect very cold wind chills around zero to five below zero.

"After a very cold start to the day, conditions will remain frigid with winds remaining lighter, around 10 mph or less," according to the National Weather Service. "The best chance for any snow showers would be west of US 15, and across Southern Maryland."

Forecasters say that there will be "plenty of sun" on Wednesday, but temperatures are still expected to be "frigid" before things start to heat up on Thursday, though hypothermia is still a concern if precautions are not taken.

Anyone heading outside has been advised to "use caution, dress in layers, wear a hat and gloves."
